# HeyRetro

> HeyRetro is a real-time retrospective app for agile teams that need structured boards, live collaboration, voting, surveys, timers, templates, and follow-up action items.

HeyRetro helps teams run sprint retrospectives from setup through wrap-up. Teams can choose a retrospective template, invite teammates or guests, collect feedback, vote, focus discussion, group related topics, and leave with assigned action items.

The product is designed for facilitators, engineering teams, product teams, and organizations that want lightweight retrospective workflows without spreadsheets, whiteboards, or meeting setup overhead.

## Microsoft Teams integration

HeyRetro provides a Microsoft Teams tab integration for Enterprise organizations.

- Start a retro from a Teams channel, chat, or meeting.
- Import the Teams roster into the HeyRetro setup flow.
- Finish board setup in the HeyRetro web app, then share the session back with participants.
- The integration requires an active Enterprise plan.

## HeyRetro MCP

HeyRetro provides an authenticated Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for board creation and management.

- Server URL: `https://heyretro.io/mcp/heyretro`
- Transport: streamable HTTP.
- Authentication: send `Authorization: Bearer <MCP_TOKEN>`.
- Tokens are created by signed-in users from `/settings/mcp`.
- The MCP server is user-scoped and respects the authenticated user's HeyRetro teams, board permissions, facilitator permissions, and billing limits.

MCP tools:

- `list-teams`: List teams available to the authenticated user.
- `list-team-members`: List exact member names, emails, and IDs for a target team.
- `list-board-templates`: List built-in HeyRetro board templates and template keys.
- `list-boards`: List visible boards, optionally scoped to an exact team.
- `get-board`: Fetch a board by ID, share token, or exact name.
- `create-board`: Create a board from blank input, a built-in template, or the latest board in a target team.
- `update-board-settings`: Update board name, team, visibility, group edit policy, columns, surveys, and related board settings.
- `set-board-facilitators`: Replace the facilitator list for a board the authenticated user can manage.

Use exact IDs, share tokens, names, or emails. Do not fuzzy-match team, board, or member names. If a lookup is missing or ambiguous, use the structured choices returned by the MCP server before retrying.

- "Create a public Sprint Retro board for team Product using the classic sprint template."
